Sponsored by Central Illinois A.B.A.T.E. and G&M Distributors (Budweiser). Retailers of adult beverages in Fulton, Henderson, Knox, Warren, Henry Counties will be selling paper bikes (similar to shamrocks that we are all familiar with) to raise money for Western Illinois Special Olympics, D.I.G.I.T. (Disabled Individuals Getting In Touch) Galesburg Chapter, and Galesburg Youth Athletic Club. Support these fine charities when you visit your favorite watering hole and help them win a hog roast with band for selling the most paper bikes. July 20 - 23, 2008- Bridgeview, Illinois. Loop Around Lake Michigan
Sponsored by The Krash Bar. The ride starts at The Krash Bar, 7112 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview. The ride leaves at 9 AM on July 20th and will go all the way around Lake Michigan. There is no cost to join but each participant is responsible for their own expenses. The ride will travel 266 miles on the 20th and stop for the night in Manistee, Michigan. On the 21st the ride will continue to Mackinaw City, Michigan. On the 22nd the ride will stop for the night in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The ride ends on the 23rd back in Bridgeview. The American Legion Riders Post 88 will hold their 3rd annual Dice Run for the Troops on Saturday at the American Legion Post 88, 1903 Maple Ave. Mattoon, IL. Sign-up begins at 10 AM and the ride leaves at 11 AM. After the ride food will be available as well as live music by the Sawyer Brothers Band and drawings, etc. Ride, food, entertainment is $10 per person. Food & Entertainment is $5 per person. July 26, 2008- Ft. Yates, South Dakota. 3rd Annual Wounded Knee Memorial Motorcycle Ride
The ride starts at the Powwow Grounds in Eagle Butte. Registration is from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Riders will be joined by those who began the previous day in Ft. Yates, North Dakota, and will continue for the final leg into Wounded Knee, South Dakota. Ride fee is $20.00 for the rider and $10.00 for a passenger. All riders that register will receive a ride patch in the mail after the ride. August 17, 2008- Elmhurst, Illinois. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Tour (FAST Ride)
Registration is from 8 – 9 AM at Galway, 12045 W. Roosevelt Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126. Ride leaves at 9:30 AM. The ride is sponsored to raise awareness of Fetal Alcohol and is open to all makes and models of motorcycles. The ride is 85 miles to the halfway spot, Moose Lodge in Morris, IL. We work with 18 different municipalities and counties to block ALL intersections. We will have at least 4 police motorcycle units riding with us. We do NOT stop for any intersections each way. Have a light lunch in Morris, then 79 miles back to , again without stopping for any intersections. It is a great 2 hour ride each way. We will get back to Galway approximately at 3 PM for a big party, which includes band, buffet, raffles, and the big raffle for a 2008 Harley Davidson Super Glide or $10,000 cash..
