Bill Orce was the State Director of the first ABATE of ILLINOIS corporation from the mid seventies through 1984. It was because of his leadership in the early days that encouraged some of us to devote so much time to the motorcycle rights movement in the years that followed. Ride forever free!!

William E. Orce

William E. Orce, III was born September 18, 1947 in Yonkers, New York to William E. Jr. and Elizabeth (nee Howard) Orce. He died June 21, 2006 in Waukegan.
Mr. Orce was an avid motorcyclist and martial artist who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He worked as an auto mechanic, drove a tow truck, sold office equipment, operated heavy construction equipment, published a motorcycle magazine and newspaper, owned a bike shop and owned and operated a martial arts school. He was trained in several varieties of the martial arts and was an original member of Abate of Illinois.
William is survived by his wife, Dawn Bays; his daughter, Amber Michelle Orce; his mother, Elizabeth Orce of Cape Cod, MA, his sister, Karen Jones of Cape Cod, MA, his nephews, Michael (Christy) Jones of Hoffman Estates and Mark (Amy) Jones of Huntly.and his grand nephew, Douglas Johnson of Hoffman Estates.
Visitation 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (four blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Funeral services 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery.
