NEWS UPDATE: CELEBRATION OF FIRE AND RESCUE WORKERS
Deer Creek Motorcycle Jamboree Rally
Deer Creek Cruising Classic Car Show

I have the sad obligation to report that on September 2nd, 2008, just 12 days before the weekend of the event, the Deer Creek Village Board has Voted to "Block and Disallow" the event from being held in the Village of Deer Creek Illinois even though they had Nationally Advertised this event on their Web Site dating back to 2002. Both the Classic Car Show and the Motorcycle Jamboree were forced to cancel 12 days before the event due to loss of location for the event as the result of this very late hour vote. The base reason behind this as alledgedly voiced at the Village Board Meeting was that the Village of Deer Creek didn't want a lot of "HELLS ANGELS TYPES" in the Village of Deer Creek Illinois and were so concerned about local businesses being blocked when 1st Street has been closed for the event in the past.

After hearing the response from many directly involved with the organization of this event, as well as the response from many Bikers, we have a proposed a "DEER CREEK CRUISE THRU" where everyone who had planned on attending in support of Volunteer Fire and Rescue Workers Everywhere as well as for all of the time and money a lot of us have invested in organizing this Festival. Check the Web Site for more information and possible new updates. The "DEER CREEK CRUISE THRU" will take place at about 2pm on Saturday the 20th, with those who can't join us at that time, a follow up Cruise Thru at Noon on Sunday the 21st. We want to Cruise Thru Deer Creek Illinois in a sign of support of The Celebration of Fire and Rescue Workers Everywhere showing them how many of us wanted to support this event, were planning on attending, and then Cruise Thru "WITHOUT SPENDING A DIME" in their community.

NEWS UPDATE Musicians, food vendors, craft vendors, bikers, and many others have already spent money, made reservations, arranged to take off work, planned the trip, and taken the time to organize, plan and work on this event over the past year, of which, the Village of Deer Creek's Village Board has shown absolutely no concern for this effort or investment that has raised a considerable amount of money since 2002 for the Deer Creek Fire Department. We are asking you to now show them that you appreciate all of the investment, time, and effort that was made to organize this event, by joining us in the Deer Creek Cruise Thru, while showing the Village of Deer Creek Illinois how many of us support this event, planned to attend this event, and then "just Cruise Thru without spending a dime" in their community because they didn't want our types.

We are forwarding 2 million of these email news updates in the hopes of reaching as many of our supporters as possible ahead of what was to be the NON PROFIT EVENT known as the Celebration of Fire and Rescue Workers Everywhere.

There will be (100 ) 7th Annual Deer Creek Dash Plaques for the first 100 Classic Cars that join in support of this cause. Dash Plaques will be handed out on Saturday and Sunday as available or mailed as needed.

Please keep us in mind for next year at a new location. We are throwing advertising support behind THE SCHRAMM SCHOOL 2nd Annual Classic Car Show being held on September 20th at 10am to 4pm at 280 East Queenwood Road in Morton Illinois on Saturday September 20th, 2008. Contact Tony at 263-7507 for more information "HOT ROD HERO's BLOOD DRIVE", CAR SHOW AND SWAP MEET. We hope to relocate the Deer Creek Motorcycle Jamboree, but it won't be the same.
